So this review was supposed to be on Fashion Week, instead I will twist it an ummph.
I attended fashion week like my other fashion forward wanna-be-seen Trinis, and I have to say I was impressed (to an extent). Kudos for the whole platform to broadcast Trinidadian and Caribbean creativityand such, as some of the presentations were quite good. On the OTHER hand, give some people an inch and they take a mile, and a mile they went. Off along the people catwalk showing utter nonsense.
Here is where the twist comes in.... ATTITUDE!
I understand models, that you may have been chosen to participate in this auspicious occasion, but the Naomi Campbell diva ISH is not at all necessary. This goes for you as well designers and wanna be socialites out there. I would think that perhaps some young'uns came to fashion week, hoping to meet one of their fav designer with the dream of being inspired and perhaps even being discovered. It certainly was not easy with the turned up noses and the some what unpleasant vibe that I got after the shows. "Who's who" run tings!!!!!
Remember a person is still a person, no matter how small.
Here's the OTHER twist.... I know!!!!! ANOTHER one!
To all you power trippers out there, who feed on the need to embarrass others. NOT cute! I am not a model, but I must admit I have the proportions. I can wear alot of things many people won't or can't, because of my body type. I DID NOT MAKE ME!!! So here's where I take the side of the "model." Fashion is what you wear. Style is how you wear it. That's why most girls who are models, model. They can wear clothes and bring them to life, whether it be couture or jeans and a tee shirt. Please doh hate on the people cuz they cuter than you.
In summary: Be you, everyone else is taken! (but be kind to everyone not just you)
